Canada to help HCMC develop smart city

Tran Vinh Tuyen, Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, recently talked with Canadian Consul General in HCMC Kyle Nunas and Canadian firms, who are visiting the city to seek investment and cooperation opportunities.

At the meeting held on March 21, Mr Tuyen affirmed that in recent years, the cooperation between Vietnam and Canada has strongly developed in many sectors. 

Specificallly, Canada has been ranking the 21st among 101 countries  investing in HCMC, with 80 projects and total investment capital of $118 million.

The city leader expected both sides would continue cooperation in dealing with climate change, health care, smart urban development.
Mr. Kyle Nunas, on behalf of the Canadian delegation, expressed his pleasure at opened policies and mechanisms to attract more and more investment in HCMC.

The visit to HCMC aims to learn about as well as seek cooperation and investment opportunities in Vietnam’s major city. Mr. Kyle Nunas said Canadian businesses have been keen on the potential market and wanted to strengthen further trade cooperation ties with HCMC, especially in smart city development.
